This December I will be fulfilling a lifelong dream of graduating from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the School of Communication, having majored in Advertising and Public Relations. The experiences I have had at this university combined with two meaningful summer internships have positioned me well for an entry-level sports marketing and public relation position within (insert company). After researching your company and the available opportunities, I respectfully submit my resume for your review.
As you can see by my resume, I was very fortunate to secure two relevant and educational summer internships over the last couple of years. In 2011, I worked directly for the principal owner of PR Partners in Las Vegas, Perry Rogers. PR Partners is one of the country’s most respected marketing and sports management firms, working with major brand athletes such as Shaquille O’Neil, Shane Victorino and Kyrie Irving. The internship allowed me a front row seat in daily strategic planning meetings and challenged me with research projects that would help the firm and their clients. It provided me great experience with brand representation and public relations, especially in the sports marketing world.
In 2013, I secured an internship with the Chicago Sports Commission. This commission’s primary mission is to pursue, support, attract and market sporting events and sport-related business opportunities that would positively impact Chicago’s economy. Working under the CEO, Sam Stark, I was directly involved in improving their website and database, as well as coordinating many of the events that took place throughout the city. These experiences only deepend my interest in the sports marketing and public relations worlds.
At Loyola University of Chicago, I have maintained good academic standing and have fine-tuned my focus this senior year in the marketing, advertising and public relations fields. I am also a proud founding father of the Lambda Nu chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and served on the executive board as Ritual Director during my senior year.
As I come to the end of this exciting chapter at Loyola University of Chicago, I look forward to applying my experiences professionally when I join a dynamic organization such as (insert company). I am a passionate, hard worker and look forward to continuing my growth in the worlds of sports marketing, advertising and public relations. I sincerely appreciate your consideration and hope to hear from you soon.
